Join pinhole and alternative photography expert Justin Quinnell for a one-day practical workshop exploring alternative processes, with a pop-up darkroom in the MPF gallery.
Justin has been teaching pinhole photography and camera obscura creation for over 34 years across the world, from working with Mark Ruffalo in Hollywood to remote communities in Australia’s Northern Territory.
The day will begin with a short talk by Justin on his creative practice followed by a full day of activities. Participants will learn about the practicalities of pinhole photography, including 6-month pinhole exposures and pinhole video, as well as obscura designs.
We're building a pop-up darkroom in the MPF gallery for the day so that participants can also experiment with alternative processes, including cyanotype teabags and turmeric photography. Each participant will make many images throughout the day to take home with them.
All materials are included and lunch will be provided at the Foundation, as well as teas and coffees in the morning and afternoon.
