This publication contains Paul Trevor's early social documentary photography, capturing the streets of Brick Lane, London, during the 70s and 80s.

Paul Trevor began to make this work while living in the neighbourhood and after abandoning his job as an accountant, to pursue photography at the age of 25.

Published for the first time in this photobook, the images in Once Upon a Time in Brick Lane portray the area before it went through its dramatic social change.
