Photographer Jamie Murray will be in conversation with designer and publisher Tom Booth-Woodger to reflect on Jamie's work Folly. Followed by questions from the floor and a book signing.

Folly results from a series of conversations Jamie had with individuals who were incarcerated. He first began the conversations in 2017 to understand more about their experience. Most had been in numerous prisons over long periods of their life. Some individuals would allow portraits, and others not. Discussions of what had led to punishment, navigating the prison environment and the transition to freedom flowed towards broader philosophies; ideas of discipline and punishment, intertwined with questions around natural order and spirituality. Photo Editions published a book of this work earlier this year.

Tom and Jamie will discuss Folly’s relationship to incarceration and the British Landscape, alongside how important craft and production have been in the making of both the work and the book.
