Artist talk and book signing

06.02.18

Michael Christopher Brown won the 2016 Aperture book prize with Libyan Sugar, published by Twin Palms.

The book contains photos taken in war-torn Libya, mainly on his iPhone. Michael will talk about Libyan Sugar and also the extraordinary set of images made when he managed to get a place in the cortege of Fidel Castro on its journey from Havana to Santiago. The images show hundreds of people crushed on rooftops to watch the cortege pass as well as individuals and families paying tribute in the Cuban countryside.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A and book signing.
