SOFA SESSIONS: CONVERSATIONS WITH MARTIN PARR
Simon Roberts

At a time when we’re reflecting on national identity, the latest Sofa Session to be released sees Martin Parr joined by Simon Roberts, who explores notions of identity and belonging through landscape photography.

Roberts documents social, political and leisure landscapes, providing a unique glimpse into everyday life, both in Britain and abroad.

Martin Parr and Simon Roberts discuss Roberts’ unique working process and key moments throughout his photographic career. They touch on photographing Gordon Brown from the top of a motorhome the warm reception he received in Siberian villages while producing ‘Motherland’, and surveying the pleasure piers of Great Britain.

Signed copies of Simon’s book ‘Merrie Albion’ are available from the Martin Parr Foundation bookshop.

Examples of Simon’s work can be seen on his website.
