The rarest of all Martin Parr books – Bored Couples was produced to accompany an exhibition in Paris in early 1993. The book design was innovative in 1993 and still stands today as a contemporary design. Colour photographs depict ‘bored couples’, with the publication allowing the viewer to open the photobook from the front as well as from the back, reading French one way and English the other.
