The Moth presents a selection of images from throughout Jem Southam's photographic career.

The poetic sequence, inspired by the alliterative verse of the old English poems The Wanderer and The Seafarer, derives from a meditative moment depicted in one black-and-white picture at the start of the book: a solitary man standing on Gwithian beach in St Ives, Cornwall.
