Matt Stuart
Workshop

Matt Stuart will run a street photography workshop to coincide with St Paul’s Carnival, Bristol.

Shoot with Matt over the weekend, working as though on assignment. This will mean shooting early and finishing late, with a few curries and beers chucked in for good measure.

St Paul’s Carnival is one of the largest Afro-Caribbean Festivals in the UK, alongside Notting Hill; equally as lively and more intimate, the photographic possibilities are endless.

Matt will teach you how to be visible or invisible, how to work to a deadline, editing and sequencing.

This promises to be a fun filled summer weekend with one of the UK’s leading street photographers.

Martin Parr and Lua Ribeira are also set to shoot the carnival.

05.07.2019 – Matt Stuart will give an informal talk about his photographic practice, followed by dinner at the Martin Parr Foundation.

06.07.2019 – Meet at the Foundation for briefing, before shooting on location at St Paul’s Carnival throughout the day. Participants will then meet for dinner before further shooting in the evening.

07.07.2019 – Meet at the Foundation to review, edit and sequence the images taken the day before.
